Believe it or Not, This Reminds Me of My Childhood

In second, third and fourth grade, I attended a little four-clasroom neighborhood school. It was all very idyllic: We would stand outside around the flagpole to say the pledge of allegiance every morning, our parents all got together to build our playground and one of the neighbors hung dead animal carcasses from the trees in his/her front yard.

Wait, what?

Yes, someone who lived next door to an elementary school decided to hang a dead deer from his tree, where it was visible not just from every corner of the playground, but also from the cafeteria and the first- and third-grade classrooms, as well. As I’m sure you can imagine, the children were ecstatic.

Maybe that’s why this image from FAIL Blog actually does make me a little nostalgic. Merry Christmas!

Merry freakin' Christmas, kids!
The red lights hanging from the mouth betray an attention to detail that I particularly admire.
